Pallet Art

I used this piece of pallet wood to create a bird on a wire theme.
No sanding was needed as I wanted the real shabby chic look. I painted different colours with acrylic paint on the wood to match the decor of the room.
I used an old packing crate that my husband bought home from work but you could use any old wood or pallet.
Stencils can be quite expensive so I printed off bird stencils from the computer. I search for bird on a wire stencils or silhouettes. Cut out the birds and you have your stencil.
I brushed a gentle white wash over the painted colours to soften the look with a large painting brush. You could use any acrylic paints or old household paint.
Mark where you want the lines to be on your art work and mark with black pen. Stencil birds sitting on the wires.
Suggested materials:
  • Pallet wood   (wood thrown out at work)
  • Acrylic paint   (art shop)
  • Ruler and black marker pen   (art shop)
