Personalized Cork Glass Tags

Entertaining for the Holiday's? Make these darling little glass tags for each of your guest's using recycled corks! These were such a "hit" at our gathering, and we made them for our guests as a "take home" gift.
Make a gift box set for friends and family! Nothing is better than homemade gifts!

Materials:

Wine Bottle Corks

From the jewelry making section of your craft store:

Earring Hoops, Long straight pins with the "eye hook" or "flat head" at one end, and Beads

Glue

Needle-nose pliers

Optional: Embellishments or computer/ printer images, Pipe cleaners, rubber bands, ribbon, and a clear sealant spray.
Carefully cut the corks to the width you desire.
If you have a vise grip in the garage, it really helps!
Personalize your corks! I used my computer to make small "sized to the cork" labels. Print image, cut out, and glue to your cork.

We used a spray adhesive to adhere the piece of paper, but again, you can use Mod Podge or any glue to adhere. Next, we sealed it with a Mod Podge spray sealant and let it dry.

You can always buy small embellishments to adhere on, instead of making personalized tags.
You will need straight pins with the 'eye' hook from the jewelry making section in your craft supply store.
Or..you can buy the flat head kind. As long as you have a "stopper" for the beads, either will work.
String on beads
Push your pin through the cork. Make sure you try to stay in the middle of the cork.
With some Needle nose pliers, create a loop. This will keep the pin from slipping out, as well as, provide you with a loop to add a earring hoop to.
The earring hoops worked great for the wine glasses, however, we didn't want to leave out the children! So, we attached pipe cleaners to the looped section and let the kids attach them to their cups. You can also use rubber bands or ribbon.
For a fun and decorative idea: we hung the cork glass tags from a small branched tree we had and allowed the guests to find their special gift!

Enjoy!
