Poinsettia Pillow #Christmas

Sometimes you see something in a store catalog that you love, and just wish it was a different color. That's what happened for me with this poinsettia pillow!
I started out by making a simple pillow cover from blue fabric, to fit a pillow I already had.
It's just a fold-over back, so there's no zipper to worry about, no piping, nothing tricky.
Then I also had white felt, white crochet yarn and small jingle bells.
I cut out the poinsettia petal shapes and sewed long stitches down the middle. Then, by pulling on the yarn a little, it made the felt scrunch up a little and gave each petal a great texture. A knot at the end keeps it in place.
Finally, layer and hot glue all the petals together. Sew a cluster of bells to the center of the flower and then glue the whole flower to the pillow cover. I hope you'll come check out all the rest of the details at the link below, including a DOWNLOAD for the petal template.
