Put Sentimental Flowers in Resin to Create This Simple Coaster

I like saving sentimental flowers that mean things to me or represent places I’ve been too and because I work with resin I thought I could turn them into something that I could use and could see the flowers everyday so I thought why don’t I make a coaster using them. I hope everyone likes my project

Before

Firstly, I made sure my flowers were fully dried. (You can’t use fresh flowers in resin as they will rot so always dry them first). These are the beautiful flowers that came out perfectly dried, just by placing them inside a book for 7 days.

Here’s my mould I decided to use. I use this mould all the time for creating my coasters. I got this from Amazon but you can also get them from eBay.

Next I mixed up my resin. I get my resin from Amazon and so far haven’t had any problems from any brands From there yet. I mixed up 40ml so 20ml each of resin and hardener.

I mixed up my resin slowly to reduce the amount of bubbles. I always use silicon cups so it’s easier to clean the resin out as resin doesn’t stick to silicon.

I poured all the resin in my mould being carful not to over fill it.

To put my flowers in I used tweezers and placed them up side down as the coaster mould is facing down so when it comes out all the flowers will be the right way up. I then left this for 24 hours.

After

After 24 hours I took my coaster out it’s mould. Im really pleased with the final result. So pleased I came up with something so special to create using my sentimental flowers.

I have a shop on Etsy where I sell everything I make. Please feel free to check it out
