How do I make this wall pop?

It need to be light weight. I just want something to help make not look like I am living in my travel trailer.
I would remove the painting and hang the shutters horizontally, one over the other slightly offset. This arrangement is overpowering and too close to the ceiling.
The room looks very dark to me. You could consider repainting the ceiling fan blades white to blend in with the ceiling so the room seems taller. I tall bedside light or better still, 2 matching lights on swing arms hung lined up with the outside edges of the headboard posts.
Have you brought home other paint colors that are similar in hue but a lighter tone? If you find the color on sample swatches, related colors will be on that paper also. Can you move the high boy to a different wall? It looks out of balance with the headboard and low nightstand.
Flip one of the iron wall hangings over - they look symmetrical and mirrored so flipping SHOULD make them look pointed in opposite directions. They don't look right to me as they are. I can't see the artwork so can't comment. I would move them a bit further out from the framed piece - try them with the outside edge parallel to the inside line of the headboard posts (if that makes sense). I'd also lower them so the center of those 2 pieces lines up with the center of the framed piece.
Hi Rhonda, to me it all kind of blends together. I would go either really dark on the wall or really light so that the colors in the accessories show up more. You could also do some wide horizontal stripes in a very light color.
I meant that you could put the stripes with the color you have up now to kind of break it up.
I think you have way too much brown in your room. Your furniture, doors & trim, the wall behind the bed, even your comforter is a shade of brown/tan. You have a lovely pale blue shade in your painting. I would paint the wall behind the bed that color. I would move the two wood pieces above and below (horizontally) the blue painting next to the curtain. I would center the blue painting over the small chest either by moving the chest or moving the painting--which ever will work in your space. This will fill up this wall and balance this area. I would also switch out the knobs on your furniture to either glass or a metal that is similar to the metal in your wooden pieces that are currently over the bed.
I am a big fan of sponge painting...have you ever tried it? You could incorporate that pretty blue shade and also small bits of the brown tan
I also think your walls should be the same color....Will make your room look bigger and lighter.
