There are so many options. You can tile, faux tile, shiplap, wallpaper, formica, and more. Do you have a desired look you are trying to achieve? Here are several Hometalk projects that might help steer you in the right direction.

I used flat tin for back splash behind my stove for safety purposes. I absolutely love the look of tin in a farm house. My bathroom will have tin walls when I get it finished.

Hello Cheryl! Depending on what material your backsplash is, the steps could be a little different. Generally it would be as follows:

Step one: Clean with White Lightning

Step two: If the surface is slick like tile, apply two coats of Slick Stick

Step three: Paint one to two coats of Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint

Step four: Use Gator Hide for a water-resistant finish
