are you talking the outer pot or the crockery in the outer Pot?
Elaine, You can cover either with fabric for decorative purposes only. You won't be able to use it for cooking though.
I would not suggest that. Fabric is flammable and you are dealing with heat and electrical current.
If you're talking about the crockery , and maybe using it for a planter or to hold your kitchen utensils , then yes you can . You can see from the other comments , no more cooking in it although I don't think that was the intention so I'm going to go ahead and recommend modge podge .
