Can I install recessed lights directly in my drop ceiling?
I am in the middle part of my kitchen renovation. I like recessed lights very much and I want to install them in my kitchen. But the problem is my kitchen is a drop ceiling. Can I install recessed lights directly in my drop ceiling? I do some research and found that drop ceilings cannot take the weight of recessed light fixtures, etc. That's why I am confused.

Yes, it is certainly possible to install recessed lighting in a dropped ceiling!
Instead of using the can or pot style of recessed lighting though, I would strongly recommend that you choose the new lightweight slimline LED recessed lights instead. With these new shallow integrated (no bulb) fixtures, weight is not a factor. Also, as the light is LED, they do not emit heat like halogen or incandescent, so extra insulation is not needed.
Shallow LED lights are available in different diameters, strengths, and with different mounting clips, depending on the brand name.
Here are some examples:

You can install these lights but the led lights are preferred because they do not generate heat as the can lights do. Structure and weight of the lights are no longer a factor.

You will have to run supports above the drop ceiling and attach the lighting to those.
What lighting do you currently have in your drop ceiling? How are you going to power the new lights? Are you installing new wiring and switches? Do you know which circuit in your electrical panel these new lights will be added on to? Although the electric work for this doable by an experienced DIYer, it's not a project to take on as a beginner without someone who knows what they are doing guiding you.
You can look into the LED versions but you might consult an electrician. You definitely don’t want bad wiring ruining everything.
