Can ModPodge Glue be used 2 glue paper 2 wood?

I am converting an old (very cool) wooden dresser drawer to a shelf for my small bathroom. I have to add wooden shelves to the drawer and I am going to use decorative paper to glue this paper to the wooden shelves (in my bathroom theme of course ☺). My question is can I use Mod Podge Glue successfully on both sides of the paper ; on the back so it will stick to the wood & on the top for extra security & for a light sheen?

Sure, I used ModPodge with pictures from National Geographic Magazine (just faces of people) to cover a small wooden table that I use at a bedside. After all is dried, use a varnish over the entire project. I've had the table for years now.
Yes and you can use gift tissue paper a color of your choice and cover it with mod pog glue will give it a old look
yes. Midge Podge is just watered it down glue. You can use that or regular glue underneath
