Jeanette S on May 21, 2014The finish on this is awesome! Everyone is crazy about the French Country look. You could probably find a stencil to use to paint blue on drop cloth for fabric. I say drop cloth because it is a tough fabric that can be pulled tight and give years of service. It has that "unbleached domestic" and "feedsack" look to it. Be sure and post finished photos!Helpful Reply

Marion Nesbitt on May 21, 2014These chairs are versatile so you can go informal or formal. Just don't paint the wood! Painting nice wood is getting stale.Helpful Reply

Katy Malynn on May 24, 2014If they were mine, I'd choose a deep red, but if you want a french look, there is a material called Toile de jouy you might like, depends where you want to use them xxHelpful Reply

Elizabeth on Aug 03, 2014If you're planning to sell them, I'd go with a more formal material. I def. wouldn't use drop cloth material--you want them to look 'high end' if you're expecting to make some money on them.Helpful Reply

Vicki K on Aug 03, 2014I would use a traditional medium-floral on white or neutral. Bigger florals are in. But nothing wild in pattern or color, just interesting, to keep the chair's integrity.Helpful Reply

Debra on Aug 04, 2014Thank you Elizabeth, I was thinking the same about going more formal. I keep going back and forth. I was thinking of a off white material with some texture to it.Helpful Reply
