Can you please give me some suggestions?
I recently stained a 1/8 inch 10 inch wood cutting board shape and am moving on to decorating it. I want to decoupage a rooster onto it, but have no idea what else I could put on it or if I should put anything else on this board at all? I plan to not put the whole napkin on the cutting board wood shape, but probably most of it. Does anyone have suggestions as to what else would look good? I know that words might be an option, but, I would like to add more embellishments to it without it looking tacky or like too much. Please help. Thank you kindly in advance for your suggestions!

I would start with the rooster in the center then add on other pieces as you feel is necessary - be know it will not hold up for chopping, washing etc. once it is decoupaged

I would start with your rooster and see how you feel that looks first before adding more. Another fleur de le (the bottom right shape that looks a little like a plant or flower but isn't) might be a nice addition to the handle.
Hi,
Maybe the Cockrell might be enough!
Hi! I would keep it simple with the rooster. I tend to start with simple and then if I see something that should be added, I go from there. It's usually easier to add than subtract (when I get carried away!).
Some distressed white accents in the red areas might be suggested. They also can be distressed with sandpaper
Tie raffia around the handle, use a strip of leather to hang or just to be seen
Often times "less is more". I'd just use the napkin, however, I would moisten the edges and tear away so the edges are not so perfect. It will be a really nice project!
It should look cute just like that then varnish it
Maybe glue a old fork and k I’ve and spoon to it ,maybe some with rooster handles.
The napkin is cool in itself if you want the wording. Other wise just cut out the rooster the stamp and the fleur de lis pieces attach them and put a border on the board with sponging on paint in one of the shade in the rooster's feathers.
I think the napkin alone, centered on the board. Tatter the edges to make it look more interesting.
I love this napkin, & myself, I would use as much of it as possible. However, we don't know the size of anything on the napkin, nor the size of your cutting board. Is it one with a handle which would make it appear larger than 10" or what? I'd suggest you begin by laying out a DRY pattern. I'd start with the rooster and go from there. Once you get the look you like, then it's simple to just mod-podge it all in place. Just do a dry run first!
You could clear coat the napkin with a pour on epoxy..
you could cut out the piece and lay them on something the size you are planning to use like a template and then remove and add items as they look like they fit to you -be sure to share your finished project with us
Beautiful! I'm red obsessed so I like it just the way it is. Let the red shine and the rooster take center stage. I hope you'll share the finished project. So pretty!
Well first of all, do you want to actually use it as a cutting board? If so, then I would not recommend decoupage. I'd recommend wood burning only on the back side, so you can keep the front flat for cutting.
I would turn that into a stand for the phone or cook book and build nice kick stand on the bottom and add nice detail out of raffia or something to the handle . Make sure to seal it properly so you can use oer and over
I would put the rooster on it and then perhaps add a couple of the fleur de lis from the napkin, but that should be enough.
Hello Aleithia, I think you could place the napkin on it and maybe a cutesy quote like" Seasoned with love", etc.
Totally agree with Deb, and just some quote
