Hi Gail,
I have never tried this before, but my sister has and it can turn out really cool. You just add a 4 or 5 drops of food coloring to two table spoons of mod podge and then paint a thin layer onto the glass. You can add extra drops of coloring to increase the intensity of the color.
One thing to note, I don't believe mod Podge can get wet, so I would keep that in mind when considering this diy.
