Does anyone have any tricks or tips on drilling holes in bottles?

Im wanting to make lanterns with Christmas lights inside, The glass bits ive gound are too small. Any ideas?

diamond bit and keep water on it while drilling
ok you need a diam drill bit, use some plummets putty to make a like donut and place around where u want to drill your hole. Then add water to your little circle, as you drill keep adding a little water this will help with friction on the glass and make it smoother to drill threw. Once done clean up and that's it!
