How can I display large decorative swords?

Hello, I recently inherited my late best friends sword collection. They are the big ninja style, medieval, gargoyle looking swords. There's only a few and none match. I rent my home so I'm limited on what I can do. I'd like to find some neat, creative DIY ideas to display these cherished swords to honor my best friend. She'll haint me if I don't! So let's hear what ideas you all have for me... Thanks!

I would get appropriate hooks ( wrought iron, steel, brass, etc. that would complement each piece and arrange in a pattern on the wall that would complement the entire design -- especially if you have an 'odd' number of pieces https://www.pinterest.com/pin/122019471129973502/?lp=true

and I truly guess that there is nothing under the sun not available on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Medieval-Gears-Hanger-Arming-Dagger/dp/B0187VJW3O

I would use command hooks to hang them, they come in many sizes. If that won't work, you might mount them on a board of sorts and attach it to stand next to a wall with command hooks.

Are you in an area where you can get decorative gun racks? (Iā€™m not - so maybe this is a bad idea) seems to me one of those would work to rest and display the swords on. Maybe you can find someone selling one used that you could paint to your liking. :)

Another option that is totally transportable and has nothing to do with a wall (unless you want it to) is a guitar stand - or several. Guitar hangers are also available. These things are coated with rubber so as not to damage the instrument. The same would apply to decorative swords. Have a look at a few on line and see if they might fit the bill!

I like the idea of hanging them. Maybe over Windows? In a powder room wall? You could make them functional and hang towels on them! Over a mantle. What a treasure you have. If history on each is available, write a description on a card to display. If none , make up something using your friend's history and personality to be a real conversation piece." Found in an antique store while backpacking through the Himalayas, surviving on bananas and beans". .???

For my son's collection we found a wire shelving unit that stands by itself (similar to https://www.homedepot.com/p/Honey-Can-Do-13-5-in-L-x-23-5-in-W-x-22-25-in-H-250-lbs-Capacity-2-Tier-Steel-Utility-Shelf-in-Chrome-SHF-04059/205706513). The blades slip through the wires, the hilts hold them in place.

Make/find a wooden ladder that you screw hooks into and lean against the wall.

I put my son's sword collection on a black rack that we attached to the wall (look in a hobby shop!!)...worked perfectly

I would take two pieces of 1 x 6 and cut holes in each using a hole cutter to support them horizontally. They would look like the rungs of a ladder and you could remove to look at and clean. Attach the two boards to a top and bottom piece and use L brackets to attach to the baseboards. You can easily patch two holes in the baseboard when you move. Stain or paint what ever you want.

Looks like you have seven swords, my idea would be 3 swords together in a black back ground shadow box. Smaller one by itself in a shadow box. So you would have 3 vertical boxes hung on a wall horizontally each one under the other with about 3 - 5" spacing in between each box . Hobby Lobby does a nice job of framing or you could get them custom made. Having a glass front would elevate dusting too !

My daughter got a knife designed from Faiths knife on Buffy the Vampire slayer. She had my fiance make her a box with a glass front to store it and display it.
