With it being Fall, those chair backs become realatively cheap with sales. I would say to keep you eyes out for the style you desire. To reapolster costs about the same.
Sometimes I amaze myself...I bought cushions, secured them to the chair back then sewed two cloth placemats together and slipped it over the chair back, like a pillowcase..
Find four cushions that would fit the back of your chairs. Take one of the cushions, and then go to your favourite fabric store (mine is a quilting fabric store). find a fabric that will go with your décor or room colouring. What you will be doing is buying enough fabric to cover each cushion, but tying the four corners handkerchief style (opposite corners). the girls will be able to help you figure out how much you will need. When you get the cushion back home, you can either knot the fabric on the backside of the cushion and then place it on the chair or pull the fabric through the chair back and knot it behind the chair (then it won't fall over or shift around).
