I think "face" bricks may be available. You could call a brick yard to see.
Do you want to veneer an existing wall?
If so, yes face brick or brick veneers are about 3/8” thick. They have to be set with either appropriate mastic or thinset mortar.
You’ll need to use spacers to keep them in place for the “coursing”.
Hey Caroline! There are a few methods you can try to get that beautiful brick look without bricks!
You can easily do the painter's tape and joint compound method that a lot of Home Decor accounts on Instagram have done! Here's a link to a lady who shows you how she did it!

And then there is always the stencil idea, just paint the wall to look like bricks, that is the method I chose while I was renting so I could easily paint over it when we moved out! Here's the tutorial I posted for it!

And then there is of course the option of putting the brick veneer on the wall if you want the most realistic look! Here's a tutorial where they did that!
