you can print out your own calender pages as you need them, and you can enlarge them. There are free programs on the net to down load Caleders by month

I have an old fashioned desk blotter like this:

And I buy the calendar that fits in it. I maintain multiple calendars, it gets messy, I only use a pencil.
You can print right off the computer and then take to work or the copy store to enlarge. You can even have them laminated if need be.
Get a decent sized dry erase board, make squares with permanent markers the size and amount you would see on calendars, use the marker to also put in the days of the week. Use a dry erase marker to mark the dates in the right squares for the month, leaving enough room to write in appointments, et.
What about a glass covered picture frame? Choose what you want under the glass like a calendar page and write on the glass with erasable markers.
