    Make whether paint has had a few weeks to cure then use 3M command strips as the other have recommended

    Make a template. I use waxed paper or anykind of paper that is clear. Turn your art over. Line up the paper with the top, poke holes where the nails will go. Place the paper on the wall and make pencil mark through the holes. I do usually use a level to check myself...place the nail/picture hanger on the pencil mark, hang your picture! Yes there are holes in the wall, but they are neat and no mistakes. Unless you change your pictures frequently, I have found this to be easy and kind to your freshly painted walls.
