Has anyone every seen one of these? It might just be my all time favorite find - antique wallpaper pasting table.

Antique wallpaper pasting table - yes, I did the happy dance when I found it!

Wallpaper hangers would use this foldable, portable table to transport their supplies and apply paste to paper. Click for more pics: http://eclecticallyvintage.com/2012/06/fab-friday-finds-antique-wallpaper-pasting-table/

I just found one in my attic! It looks very similar to the one posted. Inside there are 2 straight edges (metal), a scale ruler (all 72" long), a tool for cutting the paper and 2 brushes for smoothing the paper (?) after it is installed. It has lovely patina and age on wood! I am interested in selling.

We found one FREE on the side of the road in Braintree, MA. Had no idea what it was...all we knew was it had dovetailed joints and looked old. It was folded up and it was raining out, so it was begging to be saved! We got it home, unfolded it, saw the ruler - did some research, found out it was a Wallpaper table! Husband sanded and gave it a protective oil rub...now it is our new table in the kitchen...and just ordered stools to go underneath. Find of the century!!
  • Now that is a find @Jenny !! Sounds perfect for the kitchen too
  • Jenny Jenny on May 27, 2013
So cute in the kitchen. It isn't our 'dining table', but will be used for fruit bowl, food canisters, bread basket and a general gathering spot for our small 1955 cape kitchen. LOVE IT!
  • I'd love to see it @Jenny !

Not my final decor for the table...but it works for now as we just moved it in today in place of a baker's rack that has to be over 12 years old. Time for a change!! As mentioned, getting 24" walnut stools to slide underneath and looking for artwork for the walls.

I just acquired a folding wallpapering table. It's quite long and has metal legs that fold up into it. It folds in the middle lengthwise to make a box.

hello, I just won two of these in a auction last week. Thinking of turning the two of them into a dinning room set. Very cool project to get started on !

I'm curious what the top of your table is made of ? I'm not sure if mine have been changed over time because the top seems very thin almost like plywood. One table gas a thinner top then the other though. I know everything is is forsure original though.

My grandpa was a paper hanger/painter and had one of these that is huge, someplace in the family. I remember it well. He passed away in 1953.

I just found one yesterday that looks similar to yours and is now in my possession. The person was using it as an artist table so it has different colored paints on the table surface. I think it makes it look extra cool. I love this table, but have no place to put it in my small house. So, now I need to figure out what to price it at to sell it.

I have one that I picked up pretty cheap at an antique shop. It just walked into the shop while I was there. It was part of a lot and the shop owner wanted to move it quickly for space reasons. It was an old Ridgley and was in rough shape. I cleaned the decades of glue and paper off of it did some light sanding, minor repairs and then wiped it down with a few coats of boiled linseed oil. It looks amazing now and was complete with the zinc strip and two 6’ antique rulers that probably originally came with it. Just a gorgeous table and I love it. I just haven’t figured out what to do with it yet. I just picked up another one over the weekend for free while on vacation in NC. It’s an Accuracy Warner trestle style table. I haven’t really put it together yet but I think that I’ll use that one as a workbench in my basement.
