Hi Joan Maybe replace the wreath with a bright metal mirror or add some various size colorful art work that will just lean on the mantel and overlap each other a little or leave the wreath and add a mix of mirrors and art work

Good luck with your project would love to see pictured with what you chose to do

First of all, what a pretty room. I like the wreath and would keep it. Maybe move it up a little. Then on either side of it you could put tall, slender art or mirrors. I think I see brass or gold metal on your coffee table. I would try and incorporate that on the mantle - maybe with candle holders. Then some creamy white statues. There are so many great ones at Hobby Lobby and Home Goods. Hope this gives some ideas. My best advise is to look at what you already have and play around with it to get the ideas flowing. You can always add pieces you really love or buy a couple of new things to work in.

Add lights and maybe a really nice clock on the mantle or a large one to hang. A couple photos in nice frames. Maybe a word like, love or family. Keep the candles but maybe off to one side.

    Could you whitewash the brick?
