How do I decorate this high kitchen wall?

I would take everything off the cupboards. On the wall space above the cupboards I would go to Salvation Army, Good Will or Habitat and buy a huge painting. Then at Christmas, I would place a nice large wreath. Just a suggestion.

I would put some more shelfs on that wall, here and there, not all on the same hight of course and put your items on those shelfs. That will fill up that wall. Make a composition with it.

If you have a small budget, paint is a good resource. You could tape off shapes that would compliment your color scheme and type of decor. You could even do faux ship lap, or stencil faux bricks. Good luck, Cherie.

I can't tell if the wall is angled or not at the ceiling. It seems to me a great waste of storage space. And since it is over the stove there is the problem of grease and smoke rising and soiling items faster than they otherwise would be. I would choose a closed unit to store things. If you want to have decorative items the easiest least expensive and easy to maintain would be a series of plates hung. If the wall is angled you could be in a decreasing number from left to right. Say five vertically hung, then four, then three then two, then one. I often use soda or beer tab openers, hot glued gun on the back of small plates.

Cherie, I believe that wall is taller than mine! A basket that seems to take over your pantry looks like a puny posey pocket, displayed on the shelf. You have done a good job with what you have—better than I. I would suggest one very large, lightweight feature on the upper wall. Not a clock, because for that you would have to change batteries and maybe Daylight Savings Time. Something made of cane, straw, aluminum, or plastic.

If you were to paint the upper wall a darker color, that would make it seem lower and smaller. But that’s a mighty tall wall to paint. Be very careful.

Oh, and if you were to add lights to the current “shelf” you have, and maybe add some shiny pitchers, that would draw eyes away from the vast space above. Best wishes ☺️
