How can a disabled lady make her walls look better with few funds?

Hi ya'll! My taxes have gone from $160 a year to $2312, so I have to rent out a room to make up the income. I'm disabled (use a wheelchair) and I need to make the cracked, plaster walls more appealing to a renter. Believe it or not, I painted the walls below the moulding while sitting in the chair. (Of course the moulding looks a mess :). I don't have the money for a professional. Any tips? Thanks, Barb.

Hi Barb! Bless your heart, and keep workin' it! You can tape the molding with green frog tape, but to save money, use cardboard as an edge, either to keep the wall crisp, or the molding crisp. I am a renter, so If my landlord wanted to improve a space, I would be more than willing to help, so ask your renter to help.

The first thing I thought of after I read your question was extension poles. Usually you can unscrew your broom from the broom handle and then screw your roller handle on to the broom handle. Then you can reach all the way to the ceiling. If you don't finish painting in one day, remember to put your paint brushes and rollers in plastic bags. This way when you come back to paint again your brushes and rollers will still have paint on them and ready to continue painting. This way you only have to clean them once when the job is complete.

Thanks Aljosjer, that's what I used, it was heavy, so I've ordered a lighter pole.

Buy textured wall paper ,or get stucco paint and apply randomly
