I would first mount a large board on the wall to create the focal point and then group the smaller prints on it.

Best idea I've ever seen is to use brown craft paper the correct size. Lay it on the floor. Arrange your pictures however is pleasing to you. Outline frames and mark hanging holes on paper. Then put paper on wall and you can see where to put nails and which picture goes where. As far as frames go....look at reuse shops, discount stores, dollar stores. You can always spray paint old frames. Hope this helps.

This is a grouping in our bathroom. The prints I had in my stash and we framed them in cheap black frames from the Xmas tree shop. The second picture is of framed yacht pictures I found in a book. Very cheap frames here. I did this to sell and just hung them on the doors to photograph them. But this grouping would work on a wall too. I love to hang pictures and find that the space I am going to use, generally dictates the way I hang them.
