How can I hang my paintings in my new art space?

I will change the paintings frequently and they are of varied sizes. I don't want to use nails. Thanks for your ideas.

A painting rail nailed up close near the ceiling and painting hooks have worked very well for me. I also use fishing line to hang them - the paintings look like they are floating.

Love this idea! I'm in the process of hanging all my art,it's a ingenious way to hang some especially in my small foyer and adding what would look like crown moulding too. Thanks!

I was also going to suggest hanging from an old-fashioned plate rail. Depending on the size of the space, perhaps a peg board would work, but that may detract from the paintings themselves. Are they all framed?

I have a narrow photo ledge that I sit the frames on - here's the link from Ikea: http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/50152595/ They're available at other places too. It was the perfect solution for the area that I wanted to change out artwork and I can layer frames, throw in a small mirror if I want or add the santa photos around xmas without adding nails in the wall.

You may want to install a picture hanging system that includes rails, hanging cables and hooks. Systematic Art has home and office applications. Here's the link: http://www.systematicart.com/home-office-solutions.html

I also use a picture rail from Ikea. It's great and inexpensive, comes in different lengths so you can use the short ones as the steps incline. Picture rails wouldn't work in my southwest contemporary home.

A art rail is excellent. Yet why not try The 3M reuseable hangers and squares? I love mine, they are strong, and in a whim I can change my display. A little pricy at first but endless possibilities.
