If you have a printer I would print them on regular paper then cut the letters out. Trace the letters onto cardboard and either cut around the letter or cut the letter out to use as a stencil.
Here are a couple links, there are a lot of info out there, just Google! A really fun project, go for it!

But I want to make my own stencils with my own writing, so I'm not sure how to do that. Thank you for your input!
I had a laser printer and printed out the lettering on clear plastic for overhead projector projects, and then would use an X-acto knife and cut out the printed section.
You can find a pattern you like online, print them off, then cut out, trace them on card stock to use. I use a laser light placed on the side to keep my stencils in line. This is how I made mine and filed them in an accordion file holder to use again when needed
On your computer, you have a print selection. This is where you can choose your choice of print. Go there and choose the selection that you want to use. Print out the letters A - Z, and this will help you a great deal. When you are finished, just turn your selection back to your favorite for the computer use. Best wishes, J.
Thank you all for your input!!!
