How can I remove this lettering from this bottle?

This type of label seems to be a raised etching. I love this bottle.
Has anyone ever tried to remove this before?

You can try using the highest grit sandpaper that you can find, but generally speaking , once a surface as hard as glass is etched , its there for good .

Try soaking in cider vinegar for about an hour. Place some paper towels soaked in nail polish over the lettering.

Try looking for videos, that tell you how, and what material you need for polishing marble. It will require some sort of motorized circular buffing wheel.

  • Sometimes these labels are just glue on and a good soak over night in some vinegar will remove it. Some are printed on. Give it a good scrub and see what happens.

I have bottles and it looks etched but like Naomie said, usually glue..I use wd 40...on almost everything ..it works in about 15 minutes..everything has that dreaded glue..lol

What about etching cream to etch over the printed material

I hadn't thought of that. Good idea. Not sure how I will proceed. I've gotten a lot of suggestions. Thank you for the idea.

Don't know if it can be done. I also love interesting bottles but to me the printed design is part of the charm. At least most of the time! The one you show seems quite pleasant!

I could be wrong, but it looks to me like you have a label attached to both sides of this bottle. If so, I suggest you use hot water inside - put inside microwave for a minute or so to soften the adhesive and remove. You might have to do one side and then the other as you will most likely have to lay the bottle down on its side. Once the label is removed, used goo gone to remove remaining adhesive.

Thank you for all your responses. I'm going to try them one by one and hopefully one will work. Cheryl

Sounds easy enough to try. I hope it works. Thanks so much.
