How can I seal down washi tape?

Hey Hometalkers,
I just dressed up my pen holder at work with some funky washi tape but the edges keep coming up. The base is made of wood and i'm not really sure if I want to Mod Podge it.
Anyone have any suggestions?

! Would a coat of decoupage work?
Try dabbing a drop of white glue on to hold the edge down and then spray it with a sealer to hold everything in place for longevity.

After gluing it down, scrape the edges with an old credit card to seal them.
Similar to what I have but i also repurposed a enchiladas sauce can.
scotch type tape the 2 ends together?
