How do I Mercury glass?
I love the look of Mercury glass. I would really like to create the look, in different colors on wineglasses. Would they be safe to actually use?

Usually you do mercury glass on underside or inside. On wine glasses you usually paint and bake on the outside. Not sure, your idea, will work on drinking glasses. Look at the video on you tube for tutorials on how to paint wine glasses. It's very informative. It shows you how,to bake the paint on so it can be washed. Just paint on glass will peel and come off.
I'm not sure that paint will bake on. That project was for votives. I hope it works out for you. Did you check.out the video as to what paint you have to use?
Probably not safe for drinking even with being baked on. Just makes the paint permanent.
I used mirrored spray paint to paint the back of a window to create the look of mirror. You can spray water on it as you spray to create the loo of old mercury glass >> https://www.homeroad.net/2016/05/repurposed-glass-door-welcome-sign.html
