If you are trying to make a gallery, I usually use brown paper bags so I don't put a million holes in the wall. I take each frame and trace the outline onto the brown bag. Then I tape the brown bags on the wall - and move them around until I like the arrangement. After that, I start hanging the pictures one-by-one, usually starting with the center most frame, taking down the brown paper bag outline and replacing it with the picture. Hope that helps!
I like mine in a group. So measure the area I am going to put them and with string make that area on the floor. Then lay the pictures in the string area until I get something I like. Then transfer to the wall. Have fun with it Julie.
I use an a trick I saw on Martha Stewart, I lay out brown craft or the white side of wrapping paper in the size of the area where I want to put a collection of frames, I spread out on the floor. Then I move them around on the paper until I like the way to group looks, trace the frames onto the paper, then tape the paper to the wall to help you place nails, hooks, into the wall. I hope that helps.
i like to draw out the design on paper first, you can shrink dimensions for layout. Make sure you have a stud finder and level when you start hanging frames.
Hi Julie, I'm Cindy. I recommend that you put your pictures on the floor and arrange them several different ways until you find the arrangement that you like best. You can mix in plaques, and different things that you like. Have fun with it. Wishing you all the best.
Lay them out on the floor just beneath the wall, them look at them and organize how you would like them.
