The small metal wires hanging the glass from the fixture are corroded and rusted, what kind of wire should I look for to replace them? icon
Thanks

You can purchase chandelier wire from lighting supply store.

soak them in 1 part ammonia to 3parts water sometimes what you think are rust and corrosion are simply tarnish. rinse in hot water ad dry you will be amazed how they come out. Also what you call wires are referred to as brass pins. You can order them online. the hanging pins are not difficult to do but the pieces connecting the button to the prism are difficult to do you might consider a decorative connecter also available on line. good luck it is a labor of love.

Just wash them. The wires should be made of brass and your 'glass' is probably crystal.

To find extra crystals to replace missing ones, check out local antique shops. That's what I did!

Just wash the wires and crystals in very hot soapy (Dawn) water and dry thoroughly. If you absolutely want to change the look you could spray paint the wires now that they have been cleaned thoroughly. If not take one of the wires to the hardware store or hardware section of a home improvement store and see what they have to offer that will be of like size, etc.
