How do you make the nail polish stick the glass?

I tried doing the marbleizing effect of using nail polish in water - and dipping the glass vase into the water. I only had a little of the nail polish go on the glass. Nothing like in the pictures I saw. Am I using too much water? Too little nail polish. The wrong type of nail polish? I liked the looks of the gobs in some places of color on the glass. Thanks!

Make sure you clean the glass really well with using alcohol.
Make sure you dip the glass deep enough so that the nail polish can grab onto the glass, you can also roll the glass but it still has to be dipped into the water, practice makes perfect
Are you using a fast-drying nail polish? Maybe it's drying before you get the vase in.
