How about using an attractive molding to make it look like a picture?
Id remove the mirror before attempting to frame it.
Chair rails or moulding. Something deep enough that the lip will cover the edge of the mirror but also lie flush with the wall.

We had two large bathroom mirrors framed. The handyman used some old molding we had leftover and made a frame. He used very heavy duty Velcro and stuck them on. It worked well
