How to get stones to stick to a metal kettle?

I've got a great shaped shiny metal kettle that I would really like to cover with dollar store colored glass stones- but can't find a glue that will actually get them to stick. Do I need to sand the kettle first or is there a special type of glue I should use? I want to place it outside in my garden. Thanks!

I would think E6000 glue would do the trick. You can find it at craft stores.

Hi Golfing.gal, I suggest using a glue called E6000. or Gorilla Glue. Both are great products. Hope this helps.

E-6000 Glue. Here's an online review: "When it comes to crafting, opt for an adhesive that can hold its own. This glue is uniquely formulated to meet high-performance needs—think heavy materials like wood, metal and concrete. It’s also excellent for crafts, working with an array of mediums, including fabric, glass, fiberglass, ceramics, leather, rubber, vinyl and many plastics." carried by Amazon, Walmart, and more. Good luck!
