You can buy brick hangers at Home Depot.
You did not mention what you would like to hang, however there are brick clips available
I used the 3rd one down for a large seal sculpture about 30 lbs from one of these, and the pin holes hardly show at all.... https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=hangers+for+bricks&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=181863945341&hvpos=1t1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14521572888952872111&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033057&hvtargid=kwd-345331489182&ref=pd_sl_4mshfrpkdz_e_p19
Just to be safe, I would still drill. You can make a tiny hole using masonry anchors.
They make a something called "brick clips" which are metal, and, just as the name says, they clip onto the brick, without damaging either brick or mortar. I don't know how much weight they will support, but if you search "brick clips" you'll find them. They sell in all the big box stores, I think.
