How to hang "stuff" without screws, nails, hooks, etc???

Hi--we rent so we can't use hardware on the walls to hang things. We moved in last September and proceeded to use Command strips and hooks. Just recently everything started falling off the walls. Any ideas? I always use the heavier rated Command product than the actual weight of the item. Thanks in advance

Are your walls smooth or textured ? I was going to suggest the command strips , but they aren't working for you 😕 maybe call them and ask why they aren't holding up .

is it in your lease not to hang things ? If not , it is easy to spackle the holes and use some touch up paint , when you are ready to move .

Hi Pamela-yes its in the lease agreement-no fixtures. And yes walls are smooth-painted. I contacted Command-they wanted original packaging with any lot numbers etc that they could reference. The original packaging is in the landfill!!

  • That's weird! I've only had them fall off if the paint they were mounted to wasn't one good. Did the paint fall off too? If not, and only the strip fell off, then did you use rubbing alcohol to clean the wall with and let it dry, per the instructions? That is an important part. Did you also press and hold for 30 seconds or whatever they say? And while pressing it on, did you remove the hook part so you could properly press the strip flat on the wall? I've had really good luck with them!! Here is a post I wrote on mounting a ton of prints evenly spaced using command strips.
