How to make a pillow using a dress shirt

My grandson is in the marines and I would like to make a pillow for his mom using a dress shirt for the front. I would like to keep the collar. If you have made one I only need a photo. Thank you.

When my Dad passed and we closed the house I picked this sport coat because it was what he wore in the last pictures we took with family. Hope it gives you some ideas.

So easy; I bought a throw pillow at a thrift store; turned shirt inside out; placed pillow inside; pinned; took pillow out; sewed - nice to have buttons on the shirt because you can sew all the way around and stuff pillow in the front.

Make a tan pillow, use the top part of the shirt as a slip cover over the pillow.

If it is a dress shirt with a rounded hemline, fold the hemline to the back of the pillow and hold it closed with a couple buttons!

I don't have pictures but I got a pillow form that was as wide as the shirt, you can fold the sleeves around or turn them inside and tack them shut, then to cover where the neck hole is I had tacked a coordinating color inside. I flipped the bottom edges of the shirt in and tacked the bottom edges closed. I only tacked everything so that the shirt was still useable.

Don' t turn the shirt inside out! Stitsh across the bottom, all layers and the sleeves, both layers on the outside. Unbutton the shirt and put the pillow in. Rebutton the shirt. I made one for my grandson from his boy scout shirt. He loves it. Oh, flip the collas up and stitch then flip it back down.
