How do I make DIY faux-iron tree decorations from paper towel rolls?
I have seen a faux iron-looking tree decoration made from the cores of paper towel rolls cut into strips, pinched into leaf shapes, and then glued together and spray painted black. Can you give me instructions (preferably with a photo) on how to do this?

I think you have answered your own instructions. Try it. I would use a flat finish black spray paint to simulate wrought iron.

Hi Jayne, here's some instructions but you don't have to make them as intricate as is shown. The person shows glitter, but you could just spray paint with matte black to get the iron look. There are some other youtube videos out there too.
Have fun! The decorations will be nearly priceless! and priceless because you made them! :)

Hi Jayne,
You've gotten some great answers. The one thing different that I do is to use Hammered spray paint from Rustoleum. It will add a textured look and make it look a bit more realistic. IMHO Wishing you the best.
