    What is the fiber content of your sweaters?Wool makes the best recycled/re-purposed products as anything too big can be machined washed and shrunk to a dense fabric-like material. Cotton not so much...

    Cut them to the length you need with a couple of inches for hemming so they don't fray. Hem them with elastic cut to the size you need with measuring how tight you want them on both the bottom and top. Now you have leg warmers/slouch socks.

    Cut the sleeves off from the body of the sweater in a straight line directly under the arm pit. Hem the cut edges, pull up over your foot so the cuff of the sleeve is around your ankle.
