I have heard of people making roses out of coffee filters, is there a better way?

I made paper roses from an old dictionary for my daughter's wedding last August. I just googled newspaper roses and looked at what came up and decided from there which one I wanted to use. I did not use newspaper because the dictionary pages had more body than the newspaper. Since she was an English major in college this was very appropriate. Everyone liked them.
