How to hang a picture on a cement wall

I was trying to hang a canvas picture on my living room wall and realized it was a cement wall. I can't use the customary picture hanging tools because they either don't adhere to the wall and they cause damage too. What appropriate and effective picture hanging tools can I use?

I know there are wall anchors made for brick that I assume would also work in cement...you'd just have to decide if it's something you'd want to have in that spot forever.

There are a couple choices for hanging curtains on cement walls both involving drilling into the cement. I would opt for masonry screws they are the blue screws in hardware aisle. They come in all sizes and can be used just like regular screws in that you drill a pilot hole, put in the anchor and then the screw. There are also tap-in ones you hammer in and then unscrew the screw but I've not had much luck with those. It's probably just me.

You only need to drill into the wall and use a raw plug & then put a screw in it to hang your piece of art

I use command strips on a cinder block wall in my basement. Has held my canvas, wood pictures and even a clock no problem. Should work for you too.

I live in NW MO where it gets realllly humid in the summer. Even with AC and a dehumidifier, command strips will NOT stay on the wall. WILL NOT. Curtains - pots and pans - pictures - nothing.

Hang the artwork from a long, decorative cord. Place the anchor into the joint where the ceiling and wall meet.
