You could chalk paint it and distress the edges.

Tape/cover the mirror and spray paint in your choice of white. Chalk paint is available in spray cans now too. Super quick update. You can always distress it too after paintzing.

I would recommend looking into Dixie Belle Paint. I love them and they are great to refinish furniture. Little to no prep work, little goes a long way, and they have great customer service that can help you get exactly what you need and walk you through it. They have tutorials on painting, distressing, glazing and more...
I also recommend Dixie Belle Paint! If the surface is a slick surface, I recommmend their brand new product called Slick Stick first. 2 coats of slick stick, wait 24 hrs and paint with the Dixie Belle Paint color of your choice. Drop Cloth is a great kind of country off white....distress if you like by sanding some edges.... but remember whatever is underneath will show. So I would recommend using a glaze or a colored wax to give it a more aged look. Like Grunge glaze or VanDyke Brown glaze. If you think it needs to be waterproof then add a couple coats of Gator Hide top coat...it will add a bit of satin sheen...check out Dixiebelle.com for a local retailer. Good luck!
