Hi! I think I've mentioned this before trying to give folks a heads up. If the mirror is one of those contractor jobs where it is glued to the bathroom wall... and you want to go into that wall to put in a recessed cabinet for example... beware! That mirror is probably glued on so that it can hide all manner of things behind that wall... vent systems, elecrical, plumbing.... you name it. Not saying it can't be done, but might wind up being a bigger job than expected. Good Luck!

When I tried to remove the mirror in a small bathroom, it broke into many pieces. Hindsight being what it is, I think I should have tried using a glass cutter to score the mirror into several pieces so it wouldn't break up so much. But if you're planning on re-using the mirror, that won't work will it? But it's just a suggestion

  • I agree with the others- if it's held up with glue, I wouldn't try removing it on my own. If it's got hardware you can see and remove its much easier. It's still held on with glue, but not as much as with glue alone, and will usually just pop right off the wall Once the hardware is gone.

It's a good idea to be proactive and cover the glass with either news paper and masking tape or inexpensive sheets of contact paper. Much safer and less mess in case of a break.
