I did something similar here when I made a stitch sample book. I just saddle-stitched through all the layers with embroidery floss: https://mermaidsden.com/blog/2017/03/26/make-a-stitch-sampler-book
When I made one for my granddaughter, I sewed a double row of stitches to bind them together. You can stitch ribbon or other trim to dress it up.
