We made one of these from an old thrift store chandelier... and re-did it after the solar lights quit working... First select your solar lights one for each socket.
The first time we removed all the electrical "guts" from the light fixture... leaving the "candle" and socket... and used RTV (automotive sealer) to secure the solar lights (after removing the "stake" part... on these lights the battery unit did not extend into the stake) into the candle and socket of the light.
The second time... in order to get the old solar lights off (the RTV would not let go) we had to tear off the socket. AND the on the new solar lights.. the battery part extended into the stake about 2 1/2 inches. My husband used Gorilla Glue to replace the candle part with 3/4 inch PVC pipe cut to about 3 inches and glued into the "dish" part (where a real candle would drip into) on the light fixture. He then glued the new solar lights into the new candles. We live in AZ so the glue has to stand up to our summer temps.
At night when lit it looks kind of like a UFO... this time the solar lights are more about light and less about aesthetics or looks.
I just noticed that he did not remove any stickers and labels (guy thing)

Hi Trethewey, I remember seeing that post to. I suggest looking through some old Home Talk post's, as I think it was posted not long ago. Alternately, try emailing the Home Talk team. Best of luck. Hope you find the post. Kay Adelaide Australia
