First thing that comes to mind is getting a shadow box ( or enough for a grouping displayed on a wall) attach shells in the shadow box for a display. You could even buy material or printed sheets of paper to attach to the area where shells will be seen. I've also seen coffee table with a closed glass top that can be filled with and displayed with your favorite things, from a special trip or vacation at the beach., could even add postcards from the area of your visit, pictures of scenery, family or friends . Lights that work on a battery, the really small ones, fairy lights , could be arranged inside the coffee table to complete your display.
I like the idea of decorating with them in the bathroom. Maybe go with a seashell theme. If you have one that's bigger, you could use it as a soap dish.
I have lots and lots of shells. Some are stored in large jars, some in baskets. I have trimmed mirror frames and picture frames with them. In the center of this photo there is a large metal tray that trimmed with shells and used the inside of to display photos held in place with tiny magnets. In our Museum here in Portland maine there is a "dress" made out of mussel shells. I have seen furniture (bureaus etc) completely covered with sea shells. There are shell grottos in Europe. So many things to do with shells!
