Balloons + water. Clip balloon tails to wire hanger, hang between freezer baskets for rounded bottom. Balls won't be perfect, but close. Otherwise buy a mold.

Fill balloons with water and tie shut. Place them in a container that will help them retain a rounded shape and freeze. If you live in a cold climate freeze them outside.

You can buy disposable plastic bags which you fill with water. There are ball shaped pockets which take the water. Seal and freeze. I presume it's these ice balls you are enquiring about.

Fill balloons with colored water and freeze them in freezer or zero weather outside. Remove the balloons and place the ice balls along the walk or drive for winter color. Any food dye will color the water before freezing.

Not an answer, but ???? What are you using these for? I would be a little concerned about using them with food or punch bowl after being in a balloon. Not sure what toxic possibilities line the insides of those. The baggie or food safe item sounds safer. But I LOVE the idea of using them along a walk or drive. Lots of size options there, from balloons to beach balls as forms. Could look like large ornaments. What fun! I saw an idea years ago where you fill PVC pipes with water and a few pinecones and freeze the water inside. Then take two buckets, putting a smaller one inside a larger one and fill the space between them with pinecones, boughs and water, then freeze. When you remove from "forms" put a little water on top of PVC pipe between "ice bucket" to act as glue so it looks like a lamp post of sorts. Put battery candle in "lamp" and use them to line driveway or walkway. Guess you wouldn't need the PVC pole if you wanted to simply set the "bucket" lights out. Enjoy the holidays!!

One more comment I would string lights under or between the ice balls to make them look like a winter fairyland. I just love the Christmas season. But something like the plain ice balls could be used all during the winter months. Now I can't wait for cold weather.
