You could use an old lamp, stacked terracotta pots - with adhesive holding them together, or a tomato cage, Barbara!

Hi Barbara! How about recessing the ball slightly into your yard, and then placing glass or stone decorative pieces around where it is above ground?
You can always use a small bird bath as a holder.
