Is there a trick to separating the napkin layers?

I purchase some beautiful 3-ply napkins to decoupage a chest of drawers. I am having a lot of trouble separating the layers(plys). Please help!

Do a test area on something. If layers are so thin to separate, you may not have to.

Did you try blowing on them? That works well for coffee filters.

  Hi Cheryl,
  After re-reading my answer, it is not very clear what I meant, I was thinking of a stack of coffee filters that we have at work, Just a breath between the layers seperates them from the clinging of other layers. Not a breath on top but rather from the side. This will probably work with the delicate layers of a napkin, try it at different sides of the napkin if it seems to be stamped together.
