I want to give my living room a new look with updating my table lamps.

Question

They are brass and I would like to make them bronze, any ideas if they could be painted?

Heck yes! I spray light fixtures that are brass a lot and the key is to make sure the lamp is clean and dust free and spray light coats. I love Rustoleums 2x the spray because it has excellent coverage if you want color and the Rustoleum Hammered spray paint is so fun to work with and can give you a really cool burnished bronze look, copper, etc. Just make sure to keep the can of hammered spray paint well shaken! Have fun and if you do not like it, then try it again!

I would definitely recommend maybe looking into some spray paint. I feel like I've seen this a lot in DIY and repurposing old furniture and decor. It's very simple and user friendly. Good luck!

Yes, you can spray paint almost any solid surface. Just be sure to clean the lamps to remove any dust or grime, let it dry thoroughly, then use a good paint, or paint with primer is what I prefer when I paint slick surfaces, and that's it. Let it completely dry over night before messing with it then add a new shade and it will be like a new lamp!

I love painting anything as well. I recommend primer first though. The projects just always come out better after prime. Use a red primer for brass. It will tell you on the spray cans what each is used for.
