You could use a jello mold and make holes in it to hang it, or I saw someone take old records and put them over a bowl in the oven at 200 until it bends over the bowl. You can paint it and put holes in it for hanging. Here is a pinterest link with some ideas too:

dollar store has lots of baskets in plastic,wire and probably chain too .

Use the hanging wire pots made for outside flowers. Shop at thrift stores for used hanging planters/baskets.
